2V-1G-2F

Sometimes, blogging is not just to submit homework. The number of posts and how often you blog are not the main aim of blogging. I only blog when I feel like blogging. (creating excuses for not posting any post last week)

This weekend, one of my secondary schoolmate visited me. His name is 'YOU' and currently studying sound and music in Lim Kok Wing University. Last time, I knew him through my brother. His impression in my mind is always some one with around 160 cm waving his hand as hard as possible when he saw his friend,as if he is going to break his hand. He is the youngest in his family while I am the eldest. He is one of the friends who I managed to remain in connection after years leaving school.

It's a long journey from Cyberjaya to Bandar Utama. It always take him around 2-3 hours to reach Bandar Utama. Since he does not have any class on Thursday and Friday, he decided to depart to my place on Friday morning. He reached One-Utama at around 3 p.m. We met at MPH and hang around the mall before we watch a movie. It was an amature movie directed by a Singaporean young director.

There was no breath-catching special effect being used in the movie. It was neither starred by famous international movie actor and actresses. It was a movie which describes three different stories which develop from 3 total different backgrounds. Later, the story continued with all the chracters facing the peak and trough in their lives. It reaches the climax of the movie when the director skilfully connected all the characters in the movie. I like this movie because there is no breath-taking special effects being used. The director paid mre attention onto the story line and the action of every characters, even a tiny little gesture. The movie title is "GONE SHOPPING". A story of modern human being's lifestyle, a tale of simple things which grow in a complicated ways in a big city on a small island called Singapore. I would rate this movie 8 out of 10. But, I don't think everyone will agree with me.After the movie, we walked back to hostel. Evening was drizzling.

Later, around 8 o'clock, we went to a house called "Connexion". There was a coffee house session. People were performing while the audiences were chatting while listening. Daniel performed that night. I could feel his nervousness through his voice, but "well done!" brother! I am sure you can do it better! We had a great night and we walked back to hostel around 11.30pm. We had some chatting until one of us fell asleep.

On the next day, we planned to go over to his place after taking lunch. However, plan was changed. We decided to make it a music trip. A trip to 988's live broadcast at One-Utama, in a recording room called 'V-studio' near the Rainforest region. We had a great time watching the DJs- Ah Loke and May hosting the weekly broadcast. On that day, Lee Shyn Yee, an actress, host and singer attended with the accompany of Crossfire, a new local all-guy band. Having artists performing LIVE infront of you is sure a pleasure, espeacially after weekes haunted by out assingments (one of it is DOCUMENTARY).

Later, we visited the musical festival at the Ground floor near the Old Wing in One-Utama. We swept some CDs and VCDs. You bought a local band's CD called 2V 1G. It's made up of 2 female and 1 male artistes. What does the band name mean? It's an abbreviation for 2 voices and 1 guitar. We decided to stay until 8 pm after being informed that there will be a small concert and the band is coming to perform.

the guitarist - Roger WANG

(it's rare to find someone who shares the same surname with me)

The 2 voices - Winnie Ho and Regin Tai

Time is hanging in the air.....my watch showing the time - 1600. We headed to MPH, a place for studious people. A place perfect to gain more knowledge without paying (and a perfect place to take a nap since it's so quite).

When the clock striked 6, we had our dinner at the Jusco food court. When the clock striked 7, we were still strolling along the corridoor, aimless. When the clock striked 8, we were standing infront of the stage, waiting the 2V-1G to appear. Surprisingly, they made it at 8.05pm, but short of one voice. Are they Singaporean or Malaysian artistes? Perhaps they are half-blooded. (hehe...)

Without further ado, they introduced themselves and get started to their performance. They were having their own good time performing on the stage while the audiences had theirs on the ground. People were singing. People were listening. People were enjoying. Shuttlebugs were flashing their lights.......I was observing. Brothers and sisters were sitting on the ground, listening to the songs. Married couples were hugging each other, imagining themselves in a ballroom. Mother was explaining to his banana-son the meaning of the lyrics. (for your information, most of the song 2V-1G sang were Chinese) There was a muti-cultural family consisted of two races. They were falling deep into the songs, especially the Mom. In the end, when the concert ended, she bought one copy of the CD and told the salesgirl
"I don't know what they're singing but I like the way they sing"

Suddenly, I felt KL is like a land of fortune, with numerous lost souls. People come here, hoping to carve niche in their careers, dreaming of earning their first bucket of gold, meeting the miracles in their lives, having a taste of the rich and wealthy.........some ended up lost. We are not really, really, really, really..... closed t each other but there are similar things among us, even the differences are similar(crap...) . In the end, we are not really, really, really, really that far from each others.

2V-1G?
Nope,
mine is "2V-1G-2Friends."
